Just looking at my IoTaWatt today and now have no graphs in the Data viewer, I do have Status window that shows in real time, I don’t know if this has happened since lastest update, The graph icon appears on listing in the top right hand corner but the graph itself doesn’t appears
Could you be more specific about this? Is the graph app not running, or are the inputs not listed, or are your saved graphs gone, or does it just not graph when all of the above are OK? Maybe if you could post a screenshot at the point of failure?
There was a problem with the names of inputs and outputs containing embedded blanks. The app was fixed to disallow that, but you may still have some configured that way. That could manifest itself this way.
I have posted a few screenshots, i have noticed also that the data log dates are kind of out of wack, could this also have an effect of my graphs being displayed?
The data log does appear to be corrupted. Pretty sure that’s the cause of your problem, although I also see that some of your output names have spaces.
I’ll follow up with how to reset the data logs, but first I’d like to understand better how this happened. Could you tell me?
When was the last time you could get a graph?
Are you uploading to EmonCMS and does that appear to be correct?
What is the auto-update class of your IoTaWatt? (In config device)
I could see the and use the graph only a day or two ago over my LAN.
I have had trouble getting it to upload to EmonCMS for many months and never worried about it as i was able to check it on my local LAN every day or so when i got back from working, I have not changed anything for more then a month in any of the menus.
The Auto-update Class is set to Major.
At this point I’m having trouble understanding why it’s even running. The data logs are fundamental to some services that appear to be working, yet they don’t appear to be in working order.
The current log says it’s most recent entry is on the maximum value for the epoch, while the history log is starts and ends at the minimum value for the epoch.
Would it be possible for you to post a copy of the iotawatt/iotamsgs.txt file. You should be able to download it from the file manager with a right click.
At this point I think your local logs are toast, but I want to try to figure out why. The IoTaWatt will start new ones if you delete them, but don’t try to delete them with the file manager, they are protected. There is a way to do it that deletes the file and then restarts:
iotawatt.local/command?deletelog=current
will delete the current log. The IoTaWatt will restart and a new one will be created.
At this point, see if the status of your history log has changed. If not, and it still won’t graph history, you will need to delete it as well:
iotawatt.local/command?deletelog=history

Having further problems when i checked it out first thing this morning, now i can’t log into it anymore, it is a constant red light from boot up and doesn’t change, will not go green or go into access point mode even, my router has not got it listed.
Have removed SD card and this is the last few entries of the copy of the iotawatt/iotamsgs.txt file.
I cant post all of this file as it is too long and will not upload

Looks like something has happened with the Update from 02_02_29 to 02_02_30, hasn’t restarted since.
Preliminary look at the log shows that the current log was damaged on 2/7 between 9:09 and 16:20. Prior to that, there were regular restarts due to exceptions. I’m going to speculate that these exceptions were caused by something in your datalog that couldn’t be processed while attempting a graph.
It does look like it fell off the edge after the update. I could be wrong, but I don’t think that’s the case. It was having problems before that. Do you have another SDcard?
yes i have a few SD cards spare that i can use if need, a 2gb and a 32gb card.
Status:
This problem appears to have been related to datalog corruption causing exceptions. The cause of the corruption is unknown. It was not the original SDcard. The nodeMCU (ESP8266) appears to have subsequently developed a problem with firmware loading. It is being replaced.
