My question is

1. Should the VT’s output only be an AC? Will it work fine with 6v - 12v DC?

2. Does the USB Power Supply only work with 0.2A DC output(range needed)? I already have a 2A adapter.

I’ll answer the question I think you are asking. The usb power supply needs to supply at least 200mA, less is a problem, more is no problem. That said, there are usb power supplies and usb chargers. Chargers are cheaper but the power is typically not very clean with respect to regulation and ripple. So a power supply is a better choice.
