A problem was discovered in 02_05_04 where new datalogs could not be created, leading to the need to remove the SDcard to remediate. Creating new datalogs is not part of the normal operation, but nevertheless, circumstances could lead to it and result in this problem.
The issue is a result of the new core (which is a vast improvement on many fronts) handling directory creation differently. Essentially attempting to create a directory that already existed would previously indicate success. Now it indicates failure, and cause the firmware to halt. This release fixes that.
I’ve run this in local units, and given that the change is so slight I’m taking the unprecedented step of going out to both ALPHA and BETA in an effort to eliminate this potential problem. I feel the benefit outweighs the risk.
