Connect IoTaWatt, Raspberry PI and InfluxDB to different WiFi network

Hi,
I have connected IoTawatt with InfluxDB and raspberry pi using the same WiFi network. They are working fine if they are connected to same wifi network. Once I connect any of them with different WiFi, they won’t synchronize and get disconnected. But I would like them to work normally even if each of them are connected to different wifi.

Is there any way that this could work?

Sure. Setup the Rpi with a registered domain name and specify that domain in the influx URL. It won’t matter if the Rpi is on the local LAN or anywhere in the world.

Thanks for your answer. I appreciate.

Can you please elaborate little bit more about registered domain name? Is it about SSID? I’d really appreciate if you can explain little more as I am really stuck here

Thanks

This is really a relatively straightforward networking question. You have different devices on different networks that need to talk to each other. To do that, the networks need to be connected.

The first question would be where are these devices located physically?

Why do they need to be on different Wi-Fi networks?

How are these different networks connected to each other?
