IotaWatt as a Gift for Boyfriend - Need Your Help

Hi all,
Dating a guy with an engineer brain  who is very interested in this kind of stuff and thought this would make a cool birthday gift.

He lives in Canada and his house is all-electric … no gas furnace, no gas DHW … (central heating is by electric resistance furnace). I know he has a 200amp panel but I know nothing else.

Oh, he drives a Volt so he has an EV charger of some kind in the garage.

I don’t want to ask for any details about the panel as he will figure out what I’m doing and I will not be able to get access to it for a picture.

What products / components would be good to start with?

Thank you so much for any help or guidance! :kissing_heart:

A.

I was always told that a way to a man’s heart was through his stomach. Have you considered chocolate chip cookies?

A basic setup would be a NA bundle with two 200A clamp-on CTs added. To measure the EV and furnace you could add a couple of 100A CTs and then a couple of 50A CTs for good measure. If he then wants top exploit the full capabilities of the unit, he can order more CTs to fit his needs.

He makes his own cookies, so I’ve got to find another route. :grimacing:

Thanks for the advice!
