IoTaWatt device web interface isnt responding, ping intermittent

Today seemingly randomly, I noticed my grafana graphs stopped displaying in the evening. I navigated to the unit’s IP address in the web browser and noticed it’s not able to load upon refresh (F5 in the browser).

Trying to ping the unit and sometimes it gets 100% packet loss and sometimes 0% and sometimes 75%, etc.

I power cycled the 5V (unplugged, plugged back in) and same issue. After power cycling, the LEDs appeared to stabilize on green but then appeared to switch to constant dull red. I then unplugged the 5V power supply for a few minutes then plugged it back in and now it seems to be stable on green (but ever so slightly blinking, as if reflecting network activity).

It seems as though something failed, though I’m not sure what. What should I try to do?

The most likely cause is poor WiFi such that the connection is lost.

The location of the unit hasn’t changed, it it’s been working this way for the past few years without issue.

Something changed. I would need to see the message log to be more specific.

It looks like poor WiFi connection. You might try switching your AP to use channels 6 or 1 and/or moving the AP closer to the IoTaWatt.
