Vref shunt questions

Hello, I built 3 IoTaWatts, but I must have missed ordering the vref shunt. So I’m now waiting for them to get to me. I used the BOM that I found somewhere in this forum to get the parts, and the vref shunt in that BOM is listed as ADR510ARTZ, but now that I’m reading on the specs of the shunt (2.5v at a .2% tolerance), I’m wondering if the ADR525ARTZ would have been the better choice?

I think it’s fine. I’ve used 1V references from time to time. .35% of 1V is +/-3.5mV. 0.2% of 2.5V is +/- 5mV. You will need to add this to the device section of the config however:

“refvolts”: 1

Thanks for the reply. I read elsewhere the refvolts mention, and I’m setting up VSCode/Platformio now to build firmware to change to a v5.x board.

Side note: the forum won’t let me reply until an hour has passed from the original submission? Is that an anti-bot measure of some sort? Just curious.

Discourse forums everywhere have been under attack by bots apparently from India. I had to shut down new users for awhile but it’s been quiet lately.

Fair enough. Thanks again.
