VT/CT all going crazy off by factor >70 and jumping around

Hi, working with ITW since 2022 without issues, and looking at history back in May something weird happened throwing all VT and CT values way off:

I tried several things to no avail so far:

  • ordered a new EU version of the Ideal 77DE-06-09 (earlier model was UK)
  • tried the suggestion in another topic to use another VT input (#13) as input, but that doesn’t work for me (shows 0 volt)
  • opened the case and the input connector is nicely fixed to the board
  • renamed the iotawatt dir so it would start with clean logs (old one >1.5GB)
  • removed all inputs (physically and in config) but #1
  • set calibration for VT to 0.256 to at least get the voltage to match (values between 218 and 233 here in rural Tuscany) but watt readings are all over the place for all channels: it looks like they’re random almost

Any clueas to what this could be?

Your voltage is showing as 15.6kV. Configure the VT to the default settings for your model.

Gee, you’re fast

In fact what you are seeing in the screenshot is with the default calibation setting!
When I adjust it to 0.256 to match ±222 volts you get lower numbers, but still fluctuating and very wrong, see this short video: iCloud Photos - Apple iCloud

This is a short clip showing VT calibration with default factor and the jumping numbers: iCloud Photos - Apple iCloud

I’ll have to think about that for awhile. Right now I can’t imagine what kind of failure could cause the voltage to be that high with normal calibration. I think its electrically impossible. I’m on vacation right now but may have some things to try next week.
