Cleared log, Now issue

I search and found the clear log/history link. My intention was to only delete certain inputs but that is ok.

Issue I now have is I get this error when I am using Graph+ and load past the point where I did the reset. There was a big -mW input right as the log started recording.
Request error {“range”:[1647864205,1647866005],“labels”:[“Time”,“PV_Battery”,“Grid_L1”,“Grid_L2”,“Invert_Grid”,“Main_Grid”], “data”:[[1647864180,null,null,null,null,null]

Interesting is now things are working except Lat 6hr, Last 3hr, and today. Expanding graph further works as well as 10 minutes, and 1 hour.

I think this has something to do with the integrations. Can you try plotting just voltage for those disfunctional time periods?

OK Thanks,

I think I’ve got enough to try to recreate this. My guess right now is that the “last 3 hours” will start to work in an hour or so, and so on with the others. But I’ll try to recreate. If you have any integrations defined right now. You should delete them and recreate. You won’t lose anything as they will rebuild from 24 hours ago. Integrations are an extension of the datalogs. I can’t say what the issue is definitively, but I will admit that I did not think through this scenario where the main datalogs are deleted and integrations remain. I think I’ll need to delete the integrations at the same time but I need to ponder the problem awhile before I can say for sure.

my integrator is deleted. I could not figure out how to get it to do what I wanted. Reason for the reset. I now will have a running total by looking at the graph with an output I have.

Thank You

Looking at your message log, I could see that you had some problems. It looks like you have a battery. If you are trying to measure flows into and out of he battery, integrators are the way to go. If you make a line drawing of your setup and say what you want to measure, I think you might give it another try with some help.

Right now I am ok with the info I need to monitor the system. I can pick up what goes in or out of battery as it discharges at night. All I was after was the kwh produced by the PV system. Now after the reset the “Sum/Integral” does not include the history data that I had on the inputs prior to adding the Inverter/PV/Battery. The grid does not charge the battery so only reading what is discharged from batter plus the PV used to feed loads seems to give me total WH produced by the system. The inverter feeds a critical load (EPS) panel and will also back feed the main panel to CTs, not export to grid. So (inverter L1+inverter L2)+(EPS L1+EPS L2)= PV/Battery. Inverter L1,L2 is set to allow reverse because the inverter will feed grid to EPS (bypass mode) should no PV or battery available. So the equation should show near zero or -25w for bypass mode.

I might not understand Integrator, it’s purpose, or use.

But I would like to have the sum/integral shown on the status screen instead of having to go to graph.

Would really need a line drawing, but if you are all set, that’s fine.

It allows you to see the individual flows in and out rather than the net. sum/integral can do some of that for shorter time period up to about 24 hours, but longer periods become less accurate for anything but net.

Trying to understand how this works, I’m looking at this status from above:

I can see that your PV_Battery output is the sum of Inverter and EPS CTs. So if that is your PV/Battery, the 22 Watts of Inverter_L2 is power flowing from the inverter to the Main Panel. The Grid CTs show another 164 Watts flowing into the Main Panel from the Grid, so the total power into the Main Panel is 186 Watts. I am dubious about the power factors of the Grid CTs. It is beyond abnormal. Even if the power from the inverter were somehow adversely affecting the Grid, it’s only 22 Watts and should not have that much influence over the power factors.

I don’t see where the Main and EPS Panels are tied directly together, but they are both connected to the inverter. In this scenario, I suspect that the voltage and phase of the Main Panel and EPS Panel are different when the EPS is running from the PV/Battery and they are the same when running the EPS off the grid in “Bypass Mode”.

That would explain the Grid power factors and also indicate to me, with rough calculations and a .8 pf guess, that your grid was probably more like 1,500 Watts at that time.

The fix is easy. You will need another VT. I’m guessing that your current VT is powered by a circuit from the EPS panel. You would need to add a second VT powered by a circuit from the Main Panel. You can use one of the Three-Phase alternate VT inputs 13 or 14. Once the VT is configured, an additional entry will appear in the CT setup.

image

For any Main Panel circuit that you monitor, including the Grid CTs, select the new VT. It might be more informative to label Input_0 as something like “INV_VOLTS” and the Main Panel VT as something like “GRID_VOLTS”.

The two panels are not tied together, other then through the Inverter. The inverter syncs with the grid. In bypass mode the two would be out of sync and yes the CTs on the main panel go crazy. In normal operation the grid would be dead when in EPS mode so reason I have the VT in the EPS panel. I’ve been wondering about why the PF was out of wack. No way 1500 watts in from grid that I can see. I keep an average of 120watts flowing from grid as a buffer. I see slight over runs when a big load like water heater turns off.I also have set that the inverter is suppose to supply 80% to the main panel’s loads.I know the screen shot may not show that but it changes rapidly.

This might be why I don’t see output on the shop. I have 200 amp CT on it but only measured 50-60 watts with meter. But today when the compressor turned on they still did not show a reading. The shop breaker is on the Meter panel.

The status that I’m looking at is taken at 6:50am, so any inverter output is probably from the battery, and the Main Panel is probably uncoupled. Unless the inverter is actually two inverters, the Main and EPS are probably coupled when the PV is producing enough power to give some to the Main panel. At that time I would expect the mains to have better PF, but I don’t know. A sunny noon status display would be useful.

I think the Inverter CTs should probably have a voltage reference from the Main Panel as well as the shop CTs.

Maybe it’s not 1,500 Watts, but the only way to tell is to add that VT.

Yes, at 6:50am I was on battery. Not sure what you mean by uncoupled. Even on battery it is powering the 80% of the loads in main panel.

I don’t see that. Wouldn’t it need to send that via the Inverter CTs? Inverter L1 is zero.

One way to get a better picture would be to plot VA instead of Watts for a day. VA does not depend on the voltage being in phase with current.

Good morning, here is my morning coffee. I am learning and starting to see things don’t add up as should.

Edit: I added an outlet to the main panel. I switched the VT to the main panel. Things remain the same. This was after the graph below. Switched to EPS mode, main disconnected from Inverter, and PF .99. So for some reason the inverter is the cause? Getting a 9vAC VT today, waiting for the 100amp CT to be in stock.
